One of the principles behind Our Earth is sustainability behind packaging and ingredients – making sure that planet and people are looked after for years to come with no compromise on flavour.
With sustainability for the planet in mind, we decided to go around Sleaford, our local town, for a litter pick – an initiative that will be the first of many litter picks in the future to help our local community and the planet. The local council kindly donated litter pickers, bags, high vis jackets, and other equipment to help us on our endeavor which we planned for Sunday 13th October.
Little did we know that a particularly bad rain storm would be waiting for us on that Sunday morning!
We kept going and covered Cogglesford Mill, the River Slea and the centre of town – we picked up a tonne of cigarette buts, loads of food wrappers, a few bottles and even a broken bicycle left in a bush! We were even joined by one of the youngest litter pickers ever – a four year old all dressed up in his dinosaur wellies! We managed to fill a load of bags within an hour, and were really proud about the small difference we made to our local community. We definitely all needed a cup of tea after that!
